Sine Machine is a new additive synth with some unique features:

  • 20 voices of 511 time-domain oscillators (not iFFT, but actual oscillators)
  • bulk-editing of per-harmonic ADSR, volume and pitch LFOs
  • additive “reverb” made out of 1000 sine waves
  • additive “filters” including brickwall and gaussian band-pass
  • per-harmonic gaussian pitch noise (yum)
  • hackable plaintext presets in the json format

Sine Machine is a “purist” additive synth

All Sine Machine does is emit sine waves!

That means that every single “effect” and filter is done within the additive engine itself — basically, by changing the pitch and volumes of sine wave partials.

Even the reverb is made from sine waves.

Outside of some clip limiting at the end, there’s no traditional dsp or any audio effects on top of the pure additive output.
