This is the master volume for the synthesizer. It ranges from -64db to +20db.
You can double-click to reset it to 0db.
Overload detection
When the synth volume goes above 1.0, you’ll see the patch volume slider turn red colored.
You’ll also hear the synth start to distort a bit. That’s because there’s a soft clipper at the end of the signal chain.
