Pitch Amount is the depth of Sine Machine’s pitch modulation.
It’s percent of the available Range.
Range
The range itself is set separately. By default it’s a semitone.
You can raise that range all the way up to 24 semitones — two octaves.
Sound Designer’s Tip: Set Range to an octave, Pitch Amount to 100% and Pitch LFO Shape to Square and crank the Pitch Rate. It’s a great starting point for thick leads.
Vary the depth across harmonics
You don’t have to apply the same amount of pitch variation to every harmonic. You can use the odd
You can also pitch-modulate just a slice of the spectrum:
- only the odds
- only the evens
- only the octaves
An octave or two’s worth of modulation spread unevenly across the harmonics gets pretty messed up.
